I watched the reboot Spider-Man film last night, and I probably would have watched it earlier, had it not been that I had a dislike for that title (the title may have worked back in the 1977s when the last film with that name was released).

But the thing that stuck with me had nothing to do with the generic plot (although I did enjoy the film nonetheless), it was this quote from Ben - who was quoting Peter's dad. This I aim (or at least try to but fail) to lead my life, at least I'm going to try to aim for this a bit further.

Also another improvement which I intend to apply, which itself stems from a combination of wanting to be a vigilante and an insecurity of being told I'm skinny one too many times, is that I want to get muscular. Being that I tend to take things up and drop them quickly, I find large groups of people in an unfamiliar place daunting, and I just like my room. I have bought set of free weights to help reach this goal.

Scroll no further if you don't want to see a picture of my chest...

This is my chest in its current state:

Note that I had to have my mouse in my hand to take pictures (well done Microsoft for not adding a timer to your LifeCam...)

Not flexed Flexed

Lighting
With the lighting it looks as if I have significantly more muscles, but I'm not sure which is the real one, so I'm using both for reference. Either way I'm pretty much skin and bones, the slight abs definition when I flex is just due to fact that I'm skinny not that there's actual muscle definition there. I must change this.

Not sure if I can call this a belated New Year's Resolution since I've never seen the point in them (why would you need to wait till a certain point in time to do something good?) thus I have never done one. I will probably keep my track record and just do it. It's something I want to do, its good for me and hopefully it will instill a bit of confidence in me (though I'm doubtful).

My first workout (today) now my weights have arrived was something I modified from something I read online.

I used a deck of cards (no jokers) and a 3.5kg weight (don't want to pull anything when I'm just getting started). Shuffle the deck (or not, it really doesn't matter, just more fun if you do... I guess...). Draw a card; if red: left arm, if black: right arm. Not even sure of the word to describe what I was actually doing so I'll just describe it as: lifting the weight from my hip to my shoulder while standing. Do as many of them as the number on the card (Ace = 1, Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13). Go through all cards in deck then done.

Annoyingly I forgot to drink any milk after the workout so I'll probably do it again and drink some after :/ Hopefully my muscles won't be too achey tomorrow.
